I'm using a MacMini as a server to serve only 4 other machines.
I have a folder in MacMini with 1020 pictures
What would be exactly the waY to import PICTURES?,
What do I'm doing wrong?
Your file path must be the full, exactly correct path with the volume name as the first text after image:
but instead of a script with a loop, you might consider using the folder option with import records to import all image files in a specified folder.
What I do, was import pictures from the folder.
Because the pictures are named i.e. loupe.jpg, before make the importation I make a calculation field
ModelCodeJPG = ModelCode & ".jpg" In that way I make importation matching ModelCodeJPG with name file of pictures.
Then the result was OK.
But I was not able to construct a script Inserting pictures.
Please see my script and let me know if you get the error.
As I pointed out in my first reply, the file path is not correct. It needs to be the full file path starting with the volume name. You can't use dots for the first part of the file path.
But I don't see why you don't continue to use Import Records/folder as that would seem a simpler process to implement. The name of the file can be imported into a text field at same time that you import the images into containers.
If you are not sure of the full file path, do this:
Use Insert Picture from the Insert menu to manually insert a file into a container field. In the dialog that pops up, select the "store a reference" option.
Then, GetValue ( ContainerFieldNameHere ; 2 )
Will return the full file path to the inserted picture. You can even copy that text into your set variable step and edit it to remove the file name so that you can replace it with your calculated file name.
