SMTP mail is no longer working

We have been using SMTP email successfully for a while but now it is no longer working. We are using Exchange server and if I set up Outlook itself to send using the attached SMTP settings, the email sends successfully, so I've deduced it's an FMP/Exchange problem and not simply an SMTP/Exchange problem. The last successful email was sent on 10/15/2018. The email is only set to send upon certain conditions and those conditions were met on 12/7/2018 and no email was sent. So, I don't know exactly when it stopped working, but it was between those 2 dates. I trapped the error and it is the good ol' 1506. Any help is appreciated. I've tried all the possible combinations in the configuration using my IT staff's direction on the appropriate server/username/password/encryption settings to no avail.
