What FileMaker version do I need for Mac OS X 10.10.5 (14F2511)
Model: iMac7,1, BootROM IM71.007A.B03, 2 processors, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GHz, 2 GB, SMC 1.20f4
The following versions were certified with OS X 10.10...
FileMaker 15 is EOL September of 2019 though, after that you're beyond any support. If you're doing ANYTHING professional, you'll want to upgrade long before then.
Its for a friend. Typical Apple need an upgrade to do anything... ill stick with windows. Thx!
Just to make sure we're clear, it's not a Mac/Windows thing. Those versions of FileMaker are past support regardless of which OS you use. They SHOULD work, and you MIGHT have luck on later OS versions, but you are 100% on your own. You will not get technical support from FileMaker.
That's fine as long as it works. He has FileMaker form 1996 can those saves open with FileMaker 14?
Not directly, no. If they're from 1996 I'm guessing that's version 3 or 4 which means you'll need to convert your files twice. One from the 1996 version to .fp7 format, and then from .fp7 to .fmp12 (the current file-format).
