Music or No music?

I have discovered that I can concentrate a lot better and be more effective when I code if I listen to music via headphones or have ear plugs in and hear the white noise that creates. Not all sounds and music are the same though. What works for me is either specifically designed binaural concentration or study music, instrumental smooth jazz, lounge Bossa Nova (only in Portuguese, as Spanish, English or French lyrics are disruptive for me). In general, I can't work with music that has voices or high pitch sounds or too fast rythm. The funny exception to all that is... Kenny Rogers! Don't have a clue why, but I can work listening to most of his work, except Neon horses and a few from his early years!

So what about yous, do you work in silence, can you work in a noisy lunch restaurant, babies crying or have your favorite musics to code to?
