We have a Server hosted solution. As devs however, we keep a local copy of the file set which we use while making changes to any of our non-data front-end files.
Under FileMaker Network Settings, Network Sharing is Off on our local machines.
Yet, whenever we have any of our files open from our local copy, our machine will appear in the Hosts list of any of the machines on the network. Most users know not to attempt to connect to our machines, but every now and then, someone will not pay attention and attempt to do so.
Of course, since Network Sharing is off, there are no files listed to open, but it's annoying and confusing to the user when they see multiple hosts listed, and frustrating when we tell them we don't know how to make them go away.
(And it is not a "favorites" thing)
Even setting the Mac firewall to block all incoming connections does not stop a FileMaker client finding our machines.
What are we missing? How can we stop this?
