I have a database with a one-to-many relationship. The first table is a list of department names, and that table relates by the department name to 5 other tables that hold records regarding inventory numbers, losses, etc. Each record in the related table has a date, and a number.
What I am hoping to do, is generate a report from the department table (which has just 5 records), and on that report, summarize the data from the related tables. I can do this just fine, provided all I want to do is summarize ALL of the data held in those tables (regardless of the record date) separated by department. What I would like to do, however, is to make a sub-summary under each department, for each month of the year.
Is this possible? Creating a different report for each of the tables seems tedious, since our users will want to look at this data monthly, they don't want to have to look at 5 reports each time.
