Hello,

I am new to the FileMaker and trying my hand at writing some scripts.

We are a manufacturing company and hence a lot of raw material is ordered every day. The department who receives the material sometimes forgets to mark the "goods received" in Filemaker.

I would like to design a notification system (Modal Window) which will pop up a dialog on the Main Database Layout, to take necessary action.

Also, it is important to note that we have multiple departments and people receiving the goods every day. All the information about the goods to be received exists in the other database.

Here is what I have done.

I have created a layout for Modal Window.

I have setup script triggers on Main Layout page.

Here is my question

The main database contains the fields for the department and people ordering the goods. I would like to auto-populate the name and department in my Modal window based on the fields in the Main database, but the script is running on other database.

here is what I was thinking.

Set Field [other database:: Department ; Getfield (Maindabase :: department)]

Set Field [other database:: Name ; Getfield (Maindabase :: Name)]

the above script function is not Working, how do I get to auto-populate the fields in one database based on the fields in another database?

Any help appreciated

.
