We have successfully generated 2D barcodes in FileMaker 16. We can print these barcodes and associated text to small labels on a laser printer, but now we wish to print these labels on a Zebra model ZD620 label printer. This might be a dumb question, but can we send the barcodes and text to the Zebra assuming we have the correct Mac driver for the Zebra similar to how we print to the laser printer? We have not yet purchased the Zebra printer. Just want to make sure we have a plan that will work.
Basically the same, yes (except that the layout/page size will be formatted for 1 label).
If your printer has Wifi or Ethernet, you could alternatively choose to print using ZPL without a print driver. The disadvantage is you have to build the label in the ZPL language. The advantage is you can print using Insert From URL and have no dependence on print drivers on any machine. Barcodes should be crisper because they're generated internally by the printer to match the printer's resolution. No barcode fonts/tools required.
