I'm trying to print envelopes, and my address fields are moving up or down based on lines of information. Is there any way to lock the field in place? I'd like to anchor it so it prints in the same spot on every envelope (from the top). Thanks!!
I think you're looking for the "Top Align" button... to the right of the horizontal alignment buttons.
No, that's not it. My text box is:
If there is no contact name in the record but a company only, the text block prints lower on the envelope. I want it to always print from the same spot - anchored to the top of the field block. I have tried changing the sliding options, but nothing changes.
If you have 4 merge field, change it as 1 with line break e.g.
1 with line break
(merge field is normal text object which have special syntax in it, you can edit it just like as a text object)
It's already set up as 1 with line breaks...
Are you saying to set up as individual fields for each line?
You have two fields in the first line, with a space between them. That space will always be there, and the line containing it will never be removed - even if the two fields are empty.
Try using a field or a variable that concatenates the two fields into one.
No, that's not it.
Are you sure about this? I want to clarify because after you dismissed my suggestion, you went on to explain a variety of things that have nothing to do with top alignment and it suggests you might have misunderstood. Can you confirm that your text object is set to top align as shown in the image I attached to my previous post?
Nevermind, I think Michael's got this!
Sorry I didn't clarify. Yes, it's set to top align as shown in your attached image. I think I'm understanding about the single space! Will try and add single fields and correct with sliding up and left to maintain the space between fields.
