In typical UX - data splitted databases, how do I keep/restore user accounts after a UX deploy?

I'm migrating from a single db setup to a typical ux (layouts, scripts etc) and data (tables) split, so I can develop & deploy without working on the live database.

But I'm stuck with this problem: on our live environment, we have a sort of Extranet facility called Fleet Tool, where our customers access (via WebDirect) a couple of layouts, viewing their orders.

So once in a while I'll have to create new user accounts that:

  • are identical in the UX and data file - I'm looking towards the solution posted by darrenburgess for this - see

  • remain in the UX file after I do a deploy! And as far as I can tell, there's no way I can duplicate an account from one db to another - keeping the password the user has changed...

Any ideas on how to deal with this?
