SQL Server ODBC Table Viewing Issue

Question asked by jsciarra on Jan 21, 2019

I have a Developers install of SQL Server 2017 on an AWS Windows 2016 Server and am missing a key setting or settings to view a new table, almost certainly having to do with permissions. I am using ESS and have been able to successfully configure the ODBC driver on this machine to connect to another SQL Server’s tables using Amazon RDS. I can connect to the local instance that I have setup but I can only see the tables in the master.

If I create a new simple table when I connect I cannot see that table. This leads me to be believe that I have to grant privileges to the new table in order for it to be available.

What am I missing? It’s driving me crazy!

Thanks,
