We've been using much more files than those 10. The limit was something similar to 'semaphores' - if my memory serves well (and it's for FM6 and not for FM4..), it was ~150 or 180 divided by count of served files and users, 'host' counted maybe twice (not sure about those numbers)
Under filemaker 6, one table means one file.. restricting hosting in this sense..
