Stability with pdf documents?!?!?

I have an FMP doc that contains lots of image and pdf.

I recently added a Table that essentially contains a scan in PDF format for each record. It is not connected to other tables.

Structure is simple : RecordId, DocumentDate, DocumentName, Document (Container), keyword[1..10], notes

When navigating in the Document Table it crashes many times (a series of crash), then stop an can be stable for hours.

It doesn't look like it is record related. Container are stored internally. I have noticed issues with pdf since a few version, now it is just not workable.

I have an iMac, FMPadv 16.0.5.500

No one else has this question

The issue could be related to the PDF documents you are inserting. Have you tried storing them externally to see if there is better stability?

I would really consider upgrading to FileMaker. While FMI says the Mojave and FileMaker 16 are compatible with a few known issues, it still says at the top of this technical note that they recommend FileMaker 17:

The only other possibility I can think of is a corrupt file. You could test this by importing the PDF document into a new file and see if it is stable.

Someone else here may have another idea on what to try.

The only reason I would consider upgrading is to upgrade before version 18 since they would stop supporting peer network! I am considering moving to another platform since Apple/Filemaker doesn't seem to care for my type of user. On a Windows tablet, I might be better serve.

It is not just on one pdf document it is more random or on any document.

In a parallel discussion, it was suggested to remove some Adobe Acrobat extension it has worked so far.
