Creating a transaction without magic key

title may be confusing, so are goes my question.


As far as I know, in FileMaker there are no explicit transactions, I mean transaction as defined by SQL Databases, that is all the edits/creations/delations in a defined bunch must succeed of fail. There are implicit transactions using portals and the magic key, but then how may one implement a transaction when touched tables are not related ?


Say for example there is an event whose handling needs to create a record in Table 1, the alter a record in Table 2, etc. where all changes must succeed, or else you need to revert everything. How can this be implemented ?
