FIND SCRIPT

My background: Access, sql, visual basic, C

retired about 6 years

Now with Filemaker Pro 16 Advanced

I have a form that I made - I like it and it works - I need a script

I have been working on this for several days, unsuccessfully.

FIRST RECORD SET

I want to ‘select records’, query, find - whatever it is called, records from

table::field  - MEMBERS::GROUP

(group is a text field)

where the first character of the group field = “1”

then sort by last-name, first-name

SECOND RECORD SET

where the first character of the group field = “2”

then sort by last-name, first-name

THIRD SET

where the first character of the group field = “3” or “4”

then sort by last-name, first-name

FOURTH SET

where the first character of the group field = “5” or

the first 2 characters of the group field = “35”

etc.

I could do each ‘set’ separately but I would like to do them all at once.

Could someone help me with the syntax, functions, and procedure to make this happen?

thanks
