I agree that speed is not great. I also find the use of screen real estate extremely inefficient. I would prefer much higher density when reviewing messages and threads.
+1 for Bruce’s comments on use of screen space.
Looks very much like an interface designed for a consumer-oriented site … not one designed for most efficient use by technical professionals.

It is slow for me also. I tried to download the technical series and it took over 1/2 hour.

I found the speed and response to be great the first few days. Now it's slower — maybe more people are logged in?
For things where it says it needs to connect to a FileMaker server, such as updating My Profile (which I noted elsewhere has begun to fail for me today), I am actually seeing loading progress bars in my browser status area.
Hows the speed for everyone this go round? Still seems a bit slow to me, and there is lots of "wasted" space. I have a large monitor so it's not a big deal. Maybe that's the norm now.
The speed is fine... no different than the first beta. I don't access it in peak times for the us though..
