What is the easiest way to have a layout change to keep it looking professional as the iPhone or iPad are rotated from portrait to landscape?
There are several choices and some nice techniques that have been recently highlighted in blogs and webinars.
One of the simplest is to use object anchors to adjust the screen display as the device rotates. You'll find more on this in the FileMaker Go 1.2.1 Technical Brief in the iOS Resources. [see page 22]
The SeedCode blog writes about a techique they call "Slide-a- Block". The method, attributed to
Yann Liqueur-Salzedo from infografix , demonstrates how to sliding objects when the device rotates. Slide-a-Block blog found at <http://seedcodenext.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/slide-a-block-for-fmgo/>.
I recently watch a webinar from FM Academy <http://filemakeracademy.com/> in which Martha Zink demonstrated this technique. You should find out more there.
Thank you very much for this.
