You can set up a robot workstation with FileMaker client that does the processing. You can trigger the script via a OnTimer window that checks the value of a certain field or condition that is set via a server scheduled script. You can also install a copy of FileMaker client on the server itself, connect remotely to the database and use the server as the robot workstation. It's more flexible and the speed is similar to running server side scripts.
I would also consider not storing the images themselves in container fields...but as their native jpg files on an ftp site with SuperContainer or some other method.

I have a similar process working on my FM server.
What we did is create an export script client side in a specific file. That script is launched at the opening of the file. Then we have a shell script that just opens that specific file (FM client has to be installed on the server). And finally you can set up a schedule on the FM server that launches that system-level script daily.
Don't forget to close FM at the end of the export script
Very helpful ideas, thank you!
I agree about the photos, my issue is I am trying to get the photos off an iPad. My current concept is to send the photos from FM GO to the server then be processed.....
If anyone has a better way to get the photos off the iPad that doesnt involved thethering or emailing, I would love to hear it!
I really like that idea as well!
