In my knowledge that is possible only in FileMaker Go.
For FileMaker 11 you can use (only on Mac) some AppleScript tweak like in http://www.macosxautomation.com/applescript/linktrigger/index.html
I don't know if this fits your situation but have you looked at using a Snapshot link?
You can save the link to view the current record or records being browsed.
Additionally, the link file itself is in xml - there may be further possibilities by tweaking the parameters contained in the xml.
I use it from time-to-time as a variation on the 'Starter File' method
Could you write the parameters to a text file and have the open script read, parse and use them. Several free plugins can read/write text files ( cross platform BaseElements plugin and 360works scriptmaster come to mind, windows only there is MooPlug )
Just an idea,
thanks for the idea.
I will check if I find a way (360works scriptmaster is one of my favorite Plugin ;-)
I will check this out.
I already thought about this, but I need a Mac/Win solution.
Perhaps I can do something on the system level.
