    Layout part names verticaly

    lietus

      Hello,

Where is the option to show layout part names verticaly? Searching for an answer was useless

I see it on old layouts (made not by me), where they are not in horizontal fashion (obscuring left-most objects in layout), but in wertical, aligned to the ruler.

      thanks in advance

          Hi lietus,

There are a couple of ways to toggle the orientation of layout part labels.

One is to click on the part labels symbol along the bottom of the window between the Status Toolbar control and the Mini Mode Menu, as per the pic below:

Another way is to Control-click (Windows) or Command-click (MacOS) directly on one of the labels themselves.

Either action will swap the orientation of the part labels.

          Regards,

          Ray

Thank you very much! However, Proper UI should have all the control options in menus..

... except I fear that then the menus become exceedingly big ...

                Hi Beverly,

Yes, I agree - there are quite a few 'modern' programs where the number of possible user actions has outgrown the menu hierarchy several times over. In the scheme of things, FileMaker is pretty good at providing menu access to most functionality, I think, but there are a few exceptions (such as the case in point).

                Cheers,

                Ray
