    anchoring problem

    pkennedy

Layout appears different on different machines.Looks fine on one and distorted on the other. Anchoring photos on all 4 sides isn't working. Any thoughts?

Does FM have a problem clearing cache or something?

      Both using Windows Professional.

Both using Client to view the layout.

strike that - I am able to reproduce the issue. If I turn the wheel on the mouse to make the screen larger/smaller the images are distorted.

How can I lock them when resizing the screen?

          Thank You

            Hi pkennedy,

Anchoring an object on all sides is something you would do to ensure that the object will always scale to the size and dimensions of the window, and if the object is a graphic FileMaker will distort it (ie will not preserve the original proportions) to preserve the effect of the anchoring.

If you want the images to appear undistorted regargless of window size, you should scale them to the size you want, then anchor them on either one or two sides (to keep them in the same place with respect to one side or corner of the window) or none to have them reposition with respect to the center of the window as it changes size.

            Regards,

            Ray

Is there a way to lock the zoom feature at 100%?

                Hi pkennedy,

If you're talking about FileMaker's native window zoom controls at the lower left (and the corresponding script and button commands) yes, you can lock them.

THe way to lock them is to use a script or button that calls the Set Zoom Level [ ] command, choose 100% as the zoom level and enable the Lock option. The zoom controls will then be disabled and the window will stay at 100% until the command is called again to change the zoom% and/or release the lock.

                Regards,

                Ray

                  Hi again,

On second thoughts, given your reference to the scroll wheel, I'm guessing you may instead mean the system-level zoom feature on MacOS?

If that's the case, you can turn it off in System Preferences in the Universal Access panel. Or, rather than turning it off altogether, you might prefer to just go into the Zoom Options dialog (accessible from within the Universal Access preferences panel) and disable the option to use the Scroll Wheel to zoom.

                  Regards,

                  Ray

I got working after being able to repeat the problem -- just a matter of anchoring something that was overlaying only when distortion took place.

no need to lock the zoom...

                    Thank You for your help..
