That information gets set during the initial install. I'm not sure if it can be changed without reinstalling FileMaker.
That is a Preference for the installation of FileMaker. By default it uses the username associated with the computer. Change the username on the computer and FileMaker will also change.
You can manually override the username on the computer, in the Preference dialog. Just enter the name you want to associate with FileMaker in the "Other" field.
(actually a reply to roadstar)
I think she means the app splash screen... like this... not the username as per Preferences.
Roadstar, You might have to toss the preference files for FMP from your library... which will then require you to enter serial numbers etc again.
When installing FileMaker, many people write their own details... whereas the company you work for is the licensee / owner of the software... really. By filling this out correctly... as per the registration of the software to FMI, it should never be effected by change of staff.
off Topic: This drives me crazy with email things... instead of "support@" or "sales@" people use their personal "jimbob@" addresses to communicate in business... which is ok if the Reply-To is set to "sales@" but most often is is set to "jimbob@" then JimBob leaves the organisation and you are left with noone to reply to...
ah yes, confusion with the question again...
It is the app splash screen I'm refering to but I should have mentioned that I'm on Windows. I assume the info is buried somewhere in the registry as changing the user name on the computer didn't affect it..
I'll most likely just un-install/re-install, and you're correct, any new installs I do I will enter the Licensee name.
