BgInfo - I find this program  a great help when managing unknown or multiple computers.

so I thought I would pass it on. It displays all in one place, information like computer name

, ip address, operating system, service pack, last boot time, and about 20 more optional fields. Here is how I use it

I have a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Monotor) switch that connects to fourr servers. When I change selections

on the KVM, I has to hunt to figure if I am on the database engine, or FM web server, or backup server,

or my public website server. Now, with BgInfo, it all displayed on the desktop screen, so I know where I am instantly.

This utility is directly from Microsoft, not some 3rd party, and is supported with technical details.

If you interested, just google Bginfo, or go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897557

For me, its just one of those things that saves me time, so I can get to the interesting Filemaker things right away.
