I would like to include a simple calculation in my solution.

I have a job that runs at ft. per min. I need to know how long the job will take to finish. I would like the calculation in hours.

Can someone help me with that?

Thanks

If you take your Job Footage X FPM (feet per min), you will have the time it takes to run the job in minutes. Take that time and divide it by 60 and you will have the time it takes in hours.

The ‘ft. per min field’ and the required footage fields exist in the solution.  I would like another field that calculates the job duration in hours.

So, for example, let’s say the product is made at 60 ft. / min and the requirement is entered at 5,000 ft, I would like these two fields be used to calculate the run time answer in another field.

Dave, I used the process rate calc but maybe I just don’t get it.

Sorry,

I had the Time & Unit flipped in the Calc corrected in attached.

5000 feet should take 1.8 + hours

Define a calculation field (result is Number) =

Footage / FeetPerMinute / 60

This will retun the duration as a decimal number of hours: 1.3888888888888889 using your example. You may prefer to change the calculation to =

Footage / FeetPerMinute * 60

and set the result type to Time, in order to receive: 1:23:19.999999
