Well, it's a bit like...
LOL Sorry I have no idea but could not resist.
I did a quick google and it does not seem to be a standard design pattern. It might just be a name somebody chose for a table.
I did the same thing, Vaughan, and could not find anything that made sense. "dreamer" will need to explain a bit more, I opine!
Vaughan / Beverly,
It is a table occurrence in the invoices starter solution and I would not be surprised if found in other starter solutions from filemaker.
To answer the original poster, it is not a table, rather an occurrence of a table called Similars because of its functionality. In the case of the invoices solution it is a self-join to customers, used to relate customers with similar information, i.e. same city, state, etc.
I believe it's something you'll find in some of the factory templates, e.g. contacts with the same name.
Tim is correct! A "key" field is created based on a calculation. Then the self-join relationship using the key displays contacts that have the same name OR same company OR same city.
Good description, Tim!
So let's go back to the original post and find out what assistance (if any) might be needed.

Thank you Tim, now I know it.
Thanks Beverly, that explains it all.
