I just downloaded FileMaker Pro 12 and installed it on my MacBook Pro.
It keeps crashing on startup.
I'm running Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8 with 2GB of ram.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Works fine here on my MBP 10.6.8 with 4 gigs of ram.
What you could check if there are plugins installed in the <User>/Library/FileMaker/Extentions folder
They are installed there when plugins are installed using the AutoUpdate functions.
It messed up my initial FM 11 pretty bad, so I removed them before running FM 12
Otherwise repair permissions on your hd.
Hope that helps!

Someone mentioned a Chrome browser plugin interfering with their FM12 startup yesterday on these forums. Might be worth checking plugins for any/all apps if the FM Plugins and reinstall don't solve it.
I had the same issue on windows 7 32 bit with the beta and now with the 12adv for sale version.
Trying to open any new version file causes crash
Thank you Ruben.
It turns out to be some of the plug-ins that are installed in the extension folder as you described were causing the problem.
My plug-ins, however, were installed in the <User>/Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extentions folder.
Process of elimination found 5 plug-ins that have to be upgraded.
You saved me alot of headaches and frustration.
Finally got a resolution...
The crashing is due to the SMTPIT plug in installed in C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 12 Advanced\Extensions and C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions.
Removing the plugin from both locations and turning off autoupdate of FMP11 allows normal operation of FMP12
