I have a layout with 5 fields. One is autopopulated by Get(AccountName) and another has a drop down from a value list. There are 5 other fields in the database that look up values from related records in another database based upon the content of these two fields. In the Filemaker client, these all work beautifuly. However, in IWP, things fall apart. I'm not sure why some of the look ups work but others do not.
PosterAcct = Get (AccountName)
PosterName= Text; Lookup from related record- this succeeds
PosterPhone= Text; Lookup from related record- this succeeds
PosterEmail= Text; Lookup from related record- fails- field stays empty
HostName (from valuelist)
HostPhone Text; Lookup from related record- fails- field stays empty
HostEmail Lookup from related record- fails- field stays empty
The first 2 lookups work, and the rest do not when the record is created in IWP. I don't understand why the lookups either all work or don't all fail via IWP. All 5 lookups work when the record is created in Filemaker client.
I can "fix" it by making the 5 fields be calc fields, then they all work in IWP. But, because they are now calc fields, they will not allow the data to be edited manually. So that isn't really the desired solution.
There are 2 relationships: One based on the posters acctname and the other based on the Host name
This is a FMP11 database served from FMSA 11
My solution was to use a ascript that does the look ups and sets the fields. That way the fields remain text fields, and the data can be edited as needed. This also works in all needed platforms.
