ESS : ODBC MySQL driver performance:  Mac v Win?

I have a LAMP hosted MySQL db and can have FMS hosted files access it using ESS from either Windows Machine using public domain ODBC drivers, or run FMS on Mac (with plenty of power) using Actual's driver.

Other things being equal, how does the performance compare in the two setups?

fwiw assume the two dbs are

      1 on the same LAN

2 in separate locations say 30ms ping time apart, with plenty of bandwidth

          Hi Oliver,

I can't comment on MySQL, but the native drivers for Oracle are faster on Windows then on the Mac, at least for me.  Jonathan at Actual does an excellent job though, so if you run into any issues, get in touch with him.  I'm still working on getting a full test system up to see if Server 12 does any better.  Also wondering of the Mac drivers are 64 bit.
