FileMaker had commented years ago that field styles were being depreciated. While I know a lot of people still use them...they are a product of the early 90's. Other than desktop apps, I almost never see engraving style fields much anymore.
I'm not sure really how I feel about that one. Although with CSS, it should be possible to easily apply the style.
Though that may be true, when a feature is offered it should work all the time.
I like the simple engraving and being that the database laid out and approved, I won't be changing it.
I do like the direction that FM chose to go. It would be nice if it had color sampling though.
Engraved style should have been implemented the new way.
I think Engraved style fields add dimentionality that improve recognition of fields.
Filemaker 12's style themes are just ghastly, ugly and flat. I can't believe that FM is trying to make them a selling point.
Dimentionality, that's the word I was looking for. I agree.
