    sending mail from filemaker

Does anyone know where (if anywhere) Filemaker stores mail sent using the smtp feature? Does that work in the same way that a mail client stores sent mail?

      Thanks!

      All the best,

          JB,

Not in the same sense. Typically though, the contents of emails are based on data in the database. So, either create an "email" table to store what you send and/or BCC an appropriate email account as part of your SMTP email. With the BCC, the messages will end up in your regular email client software, in your webmail acct, etc.

SMTP does not store the email. If you need a copy of it, send a BCC to an account that you have.  Or use one of the mailing plugins.

I usually compose the email in a field, save attachments (if any) with the record. And save to whom, when sent, etc. Make an email table for these kinds of things.

It's the data I need to save.
