With FM Go 12, you can do this by clicking into a container field, and choosing the 'camera' option.
When the camera app opens, swich from still to video, shoot your clip, and it will automatically pop into your container field.
Hope this helps,
Thanks for the reply David, but when I choose the camera option after clicking
on the container field it does not give me the video option like the camera app does.
Only the still camera is available.
Am I missing something? The video does work when just using the camera app on the Ipad.
You must be using FM Go v11, not v12.
Confirm by tapping on the settings icon, and look at your version number. The other way to tell your version? Did you pay for it? If so, you're on v.11.
Works on iPad 2 (not latest) wit iOS 5.1 Bottom-right of screen once camera is available. Edit: previous post is probably correct... v11 or v12?
Thanks again David,
But, still doesn't work.
I have been running filemakerGO GO_ipad 12.0.2, build date Mar 22, 2012
I also have the old version (paid for version)
I am running filemaker 12 advanced on my pc
and download the Database via itunes to the Ipad3.
version 12 of the DB only works with the new version of filemaker Go
version 11 of the Db only works with the old version of filemaker GO
Work fine on iPhone also with FMGO12.
Did you pay for it? If so, you're on v.11.
So it's official: FMI breaks the axiom that you only get what you pay for.
BTW I'd love to see the business case put forward to make FM Go 12 free. And have been in the meetings while it was being discussed. A truely courageous decision (and not in the "Yes, Minister" sense).
Are you using a converted file and custom menus? If yes, you need to add to the custom menus the new options that are now available in the Insert menu in Fm 12 to get the containers to work properly.
Ha! Never thought of it that way, but very true.
I think the free model decision will come back to pay dividends like we've never seen before. Bravo to FMI for taking the risk.
