I'm trying to install the FileMaker Server 12 Advanced Development License. Whenever I launch the installer, it immediately crashes. Is this a known issue?
Tested on two machines running Mac OS 10.7.3.
Download the installler again, it might be damaged.
Nope. Tried again, still crashes. Submitted an inquiry to FileMaker about it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
You have to turn off all antivirus software before using the installer, then it should work.
I think I figured out the solution. There was a Java update, which I hadn't installed yet. I ran Software Update, installed the Java update, and now the installer works.
Thanks to all for their suggestions.
I'm having the same issue with the FMSADL installer crashing.
Completely new install of OS X 10.8.3. Jave 7 installed and patched.
FMSA downloaded twice - same thing. Installer launches, asks for password and then quits.
I believe during the first run it prompted to download and install a Java 6 runtime environment, which it did. However the Java 6 install does not show up in the Java prefs panel, only the 7.
Anyone have suggestions?
check the system.log file to see what was reported at the time of the crash...
Not sure if Java 7 is the issue, but you could try reverting to Java SE 6 functionality, and then try installing FMSADL.
If it doesn't work, the article tells you how to restore Java 7 settings.
Logs showed an error related to Spotlight. I had already disabled Spotlight during the OS install. Once I re-enabled it in the Prefs pane the install ran fine.
