In the Filemaker 12 starter solutions when I'm in browse mode and select a field, that field gets highlighted with a blue line around it.
Can anyone explain me witch options I have to select in the inspector to get the same effect?
Look in the Appearance tab in the Inspector. You want to play with the "In Focus" settings.
Thanks for the fast reply...
Could you be a bit more specific?
When I look at all the "in focus" settings in the Appearance tab of a field from a starter solution I don't see anywhere the color blue selected.
Once you have selected In Focus you can adjust the Line settings to blue.
I took a starter solution, went into layout mode, selected a field, selected In Focus in the inspector, changed the Line settings to red. When I return to browse mode and I select that field I get a thin red line around the field and a blue thicker line around it. Where are the settings for that blue line?
There is another way to copy the style from one object to another, even if they are on different layouts or different databases. Place both layouts in Layout Mode. Select the object that has the formatting you want to copy. From the Appearance tab on the Inspector, click on the Copy the Object's Style button the Style section. Go to the other layout and select the object. From the Appearance tab in the Inspector, click on the Past Style button.
I don't recall the actual discussion thread, but it seems there are several UI elements in the themes that are not modifiable in the inspector. They are only in the CSS of the theme. I recall that the focus blue line is one of those. In this same discussion, FMI has encouraged us to post things like this as a feature request. So, go to the feature request page and ask that this theme element (and any others that are missing that you know of), be exposed for modification in the inspector.
Adjusting the line for the In Focus will give a similar look, but to get that elusive blue highlighting the only option I have found or heard about is exactly what trlewis3 refers to above and use the copy / paste style method.
Here's that earlier thread Doug was referring to. Anyone taking bets on how often this and similar questions about how to edit the myriad properties not exposed in the Inspector come up? I'm wagering twice a week until FMP 13.
