yes I have the same setting, share with IWP for all users and the other
"Don´t display..." option is NOT checked. :c(
Okay. Next thing to look at: Make sure at least one account is assigned to a privilege set that has the "fmiwp" extended privilege set enabled.
that is also the case.
Is it possible that my own firewall (Windows) is blocking something? Or do I
need certain settings in the browsers than can block the access?
Can I delete/reset any prefs somewhere?
Well, the port shouldn't be a problem; by default, IWP shares on port 80 (which should be open). You can try port 591 under Advanced Options and see if that improves things, but I don't think that's it.
Hmn ... since the browser redirects to the correct URL, it makes me think the sharing is working (i.e., FileMaker is behaving properly), it's just the database isn't acting right. Can you post a screen shot of what you're getting in the browser?
Yes I am just trying to fake the web-publishing on my own PC.
http:localhost:80 brings the standard :
cannor etablish connection to this server under localhost.
Oh this sounds your very close and I am still very lost. :c))
Full of Hope
Nicola, try it with this URL
If you get the same "error", do you have web publishing enabled? The above link is for web publishing.
Your earlier post said you tried these:
http://localhost/fmi/iwp I end up here:
And you are seeing something, correct? Just not the databases?
Do you have a custom home page at all? See the IWP guide for information on this.
when I use localhost I get this:
means error: connection failed, firefox cannot establish connection to the
server under localhost.
otherwise I get this, I think something is working but the filename doesn´t
This are my settings:
Thanks a lot for your help!
Did you reset the port to 591 under Advanced Settings? Your screen shot is showing that as the port.
yes I did that!
This is odd. I'm not familiar with doing web sharing on a PC, but what you're seeing isn't supposed to be happening. The /fmi/iwp/res/iwp_home.html URL is supposed to be what you see when you're sharing using Server, not locally on a client.
Have you tried pointing the browser directly at the database? Bypassing the home page?
yes I tried that too, but when I do that like this
I turns and turns on the iwp_auth.html and then redirects automatically to
the localhost:591/fmi/iwp/res/iwp_home.html again after a while.
I am afraid there is something wrong generally with my computer.
I thought this page shows always also when you´re doing the IWP with a
Filemaker Pro. What did you expect it to look like?
There are at least three differences in your screen shot from the "normal" IWP home page:
1) It usually says, "FileMaker Instant Web Publishing" at the top.
3) The available databases will usually show up as clickable links down the left-hand side of the page.
See attached for a slightly older version (Server 11). Of course, they may have changed some of that for Server 12; we don't have any version 12 IWP servers up yet.
