I seem to experience the same problem. The database server dies when I try to add a table from a Mysql database throug mysql odbc connection.
I can create a dsn for the mysql database fine, test butten verifieds succesfull connection. When in my FM app, I go to table relations, add a table, select odbc. Then i select my DSN. I get a prompt for odbc username and password. Then I get a list of tables from the mysql database. so far so good. But when I select one of the tables, I get the coffeecup cursor for some seconds, then nothing. Few seconds later FMSA dies. I can restart it throiugh the admin console.
I have tried with both 32 bit and 64 bit odbc drivers, but only the 64 bit driver is seen by FMSA. It seems there is a odbc issue with FMSA 12!
Please let me know if there is a solution to this proiblem.
Found out that this issue is with Mysql odbc driver 5.1.11. I installed an earlier version of the odbcdriver ( 5.1.8 ) and the problem was solved.
Seems there is no patch yet for 5.1.11 but the problem is under investigation, so I assume next release will fix this.
FileMaker's officially supported version is 5.1.7 according to: http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6420/~/which-odbc-drivers-are-supported-with-external-sql-data-sources%3F But supposedly 5.1.10 works. But someone else confirmed this morning that 5.1.11 does not work.
