Is there a chance this PDF has some security settings embedded in it?
Is the FMP file hosted or on the same local drive with the image?
Does this same field sometimes store movie/video/sound files? If not, it probably doesn't need the Start Playback automatcially enabled.
The PDF is one that I scanned in with Acobat X, so there should be no security issues with the PDF itself. They both are oin my C drive.
This is the first time trying the new container field in FM12.
Does the file in question have the correct naming convention for a PDF, ending with ".pdf" in the file name, and no illegal characters in the file name?
Yes, it does.
Is FMS 12 set up with SSL to encrypt tdata traffic between the server and clients?
I'm not running the server.
So this al ALL on the local computer disk... the PDF, the FM file, etc. Hmmm...
Some things to try individually:
- first rule of troubleshooting: reboot the computer and try it all again.
- turn off the auto-start playback setting on the field, but leave the interactive media setting enabled (then close and reopen the file before trying the insertion again).
- check and reset the permissions of the PDF file to Everyone for both Read & Write.
- resave (not just move) the PDF to another location on the disk and then re-attempt insertion.
Let us know if anything worked or caused a different reaction.
