How fast is fast?
The best overall intro is the FileMaker Training Series. The version 12 is due out soon, but the version for 11 covers all of the basics of database design and structure in FileMaker. It is available from FileMaker Inc and there is info on this site under the My Software tab at the top of this webpage.
You might also look into the FM Academy website, which has a new series of Webinars archived for bring one up-to-speed on the changes between 11 and 12.
Keep in mind that FM12 has only been out a few weeks longer than you've been using it, so we are still all getting up to speed on the really new stuff.
I so much enjoy Lynda.com's website. They have a few good training series on FM. THere's a new FM 12 essentials, covering the basics,
But also they have a FM relational database design training series that is very complete about working with the relations of a database. I go back to that all the time.
Thank you, Stephen. I will look those up and wait 'patiently' for the new video tutorial. You are so right about 'fast', though. I know it will take its time and I need to learn it diligently like everyone else. Thanks.
Thank you, Jeremy. I have looked at Lynda and I am glad to hear you are satisfied with their offer and quality of teaching. I haven't really checked out their pricing yet. Does Lynda work on a monthy subscription basis?
It does. It's 25 a month for access to the videos. I pay 37 a month for access to the videos and exercise files that are available. I think it's worth every penny. There's every program on lynda. Everything. Even iTunes.

One point of caution with the FM11 training series: the included FM11 video's come with a file opening script which must be turned off before being able to be opened and converted to FM12. The only way to open it is with FM11. This can be done if you download a 30 day free trial of FM11 (if it's still available.) If it isn't available I'd advise waiting 'till FM12 tutorial is out.
If you turn on the debugger in FMP Advanced in either version, and then open the file, you can defeat the version check in the opening script by halting that script.
