No way that I know of since it is sandboxed and there is no way to integrate on that platform. I have complete details on integrating Skype on the Mac though if you search in documents for my tag ronsmithmd.
If Skype is sandboxed ... do any of you know of good alternatives to Skype. In this case it is not absolutely a demand that it is Skype.
Webviewer is not out of the question.
I have a Solution that let me call Skype, but I it takes me to Skype Application on our iPads. On Mac you don't have to leave the app to call Skype, But Still opens Skype Application. I don't think FileMaker 12 Supports that yet.
Carsten stated he was making an iPad app. Pretty sure that rules out the use of any plugins, (although Honza's stuff over at 24U is always pretty solid).
Since the target group are mainly elderly people, they will probably not have their own PBX, but just an ordinary telephone line or a mobile telephone.
But I we will for sure integrate with PBX's in our other customer solutions.
Yes, we made this work with skype from the very first time. The only real problem here is that after the call the user is left in Skype ... we would love to ...
either stay in the FileMaker Go solution during the call
to return to FileMaker Go after the call
Out of interest... has anyone investigated what Apple / iMessage has to offer in this department?
you can use the SMS:// scheme from filemaker go to send text messages on iPhones. I believe I had this working on the iPad in the iMessage app as well.
