By any chance, did you have an abnormal termination of Advanced? Check Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac) to see if there's a process running for Advanced. If so, kill it and see if the error persists.
Thanks Mike. Thinking about it now, a few days ago I had an overheat shutdown. Advanced has not been the same since. I will give this a try. Thanks once again. I will let you know results.
I have seen an improper shutdown of FMA11 leave this problem. In a few instances, even a restart did not solve it -- until I did a full shutdown of the client machine, pulled the network connection, restarted, and then plugged in the network cord.
You can also go into the server admin and try disconnecting the single persistent client connection, but I've seen it disconnect the wrong client on an ocassion or two, so prefer to handle it at the client machine.
The curious thing is that this conflict message sometimes reports another random client as the conflict, even a browser connection has been listed as the source of the conflict, so the conflict report itself is buggy. This was reported to FMInc shortly after 11 was released, but none of the revisions solved the reporting errors.
Oh - iv´e got a idea about this - whenever i connect directly through the LAN and for some reason ALSO connect through the router via vpn/wan, that is the same as TWO connections from the same machine - and FMP terminates...!
And it doesnt care with the two different ip-adresses....
Hope this helps
Thanks much. Wow cant believe that but it was absoletly the cause. No longer happens. Thanks once again to all 3 of you guys.
Happy to help
