i would like to add image from container field to webviewer using <img> tag. My image is present in my local disk. i used reference of image but it is not showing image. it is just showing cross mark.
Thanks in advance
If you are using Instant Web Publishing, then it will not import files to container fields like the FileMaker Pro client. It is just a limitation of IWP. I'm sure there is some PHP solution if you want to write your own web pages using FileMaker's PHP API, but I have never done it myself.
aarjunmuthu, can you post the "<img src..." that you are using?
Oh, I think I have misread your question. You are using a webviewer in a layout. The problem is either your webviewer URL is not properly formatted or the webviewer does not have permission to see that location on your hard drive. Can you give us the text you are using in the webviewer. Remember if you are looking for a local file, you will use "file:///" as the prefix and not "http://". You might find this web page useful:
<img src=\" \"file:///\" & Substitute( \"D:/Livesgroup/lg/LMPLogo.jpg\" ; \" \" ; \"%20\" ) \" class=\"right\">
Still it is showing Cross mark.
I would like to add logo in my container field to webviewer.
Kindly reply how to do?.
<img src=\"Here container field value(Reference) \" class=\"right\">
Kindly help to resolve.
To get image from container to webviewer using <img> tag.
It could be your use of the escaped double-quote, when you need a double quote. Try this:
or to make it easier, you can single quote the attributes of the IMG tag:
and your "file:///" may need to be "file://", but try the above first.
Thank you for your reply.
But i need to show the image displayed in my container field. To do what i need to do?
Thanks in advance.
You cannot directly access a container field, unless the image is stored as a reference and you know the path and name of the image. Otherwise you need to EXPORT the image to a location (desktop, documents or temp) directory that FileMaker has permission to read. (you can have a folder on the desktop that will work.) Once you have a PATH to export the image, you can use it in your webviewer reference.
I suggest you look at these script steps and functions:
Export Field Contents (script step)
Get ( DesktopPath )
Get ( TemporaryPath )
Get ( DocumentsPath )
I will use this option.
