I haven't experienced this -- yet. Would certainly like to hear more details. A couple of questions come to mind.
- Were your printers changed?
- Did your problem layouts have printer margins specified, or using FM's defaults? (FM's defaults may have changed from 11 to 12.)
- If you had specified your own layout printing margins, were they different when examined in the converted files than in the original 11 files?
It's conceivable that the new default CSS applied behind the scenes on converted layouts imposed some margins, but don't know any way to confirm or disprove this option at the moment.
The printers are the same, the only thing that changed is moving from FMP8 to FMP12.
I'm not sure if I specified special margins, I don't know how adjust the margins. When I looked at the newly converted 12 files in layout mode with page margins turned on there is no margin showing on the left side. The FMP8 files show a margin on both sides.
Once I had retyped the "Print Setup" or "Print" script steps and reran the my custom printing script both margins show on the left & right side.
Go into Layout Mode, select Layout Setup options, and go to the Printing tab. That's where you can set or remove manually imposed margins. Playing with that may help your issue.
I had this exact problem and just fixed it several minutes before reading this post. (that was kinda weird). I had the problem on two of my reports that both used the same layout. Several other reports worked fine that used a different layout. I replace the page set up and print steps in the defective script with page set up and print steps from the script that worked correclty.
You did the exact right thing. Converting a file from 11 to 12 behaves similarly as cloning and importing data would do: several settings are removed, like
- Page Setup and Print settings stored within the file
- locale settings of the file.
These will be replaced by the settings at the machine the conversion is done.
for more details.
