You create a conditional stamp field with a trigger to set the field 'Approved' from a button?
Make the stamp field invisible until the button triggers.
Involves using Scriptmaster and some iText code to create a function
Not an easy leaning curve but highly possible.
Thanks for that - I took your suggestion and ended up with this:
1. Created a container field to hold the stamped graphic (will include the word approved and a signature).
2. Created a flag field with checkbox entry.
3. Created the stamp field as a calculation to return the stamped graphic if the flag field = 1. Calculation result is a container.
This worked! Awesome and easy solution. Thanks for your help.
With our MBS Plugin you can use the watermark functions on Mac OS X. Simply put a picture (e.g. png) on top of the page at a given position (e.g. middle) with transparency.
As far as I can see, Step 3 only outputs your graphic "Approved" + Signature.
How does this save on your PDF plan like you stated in your original requirement?
You might consider integrating Autograph and having a realtime signature collected and dated by the Autograph software. Integration is easy. Works on Macs. Look for FileMaker Integration with Autograph Signature Capture Software in my documents (search for the tag ronsmithmd).
