I'm developing a FileMaker 12 solution which I intend to market as a runtime. Recently I began to create a custom menu for my app, but I'm concerned that my clients will be confused by the FileMaker runtime Preferences menu option and my own app Preferences. Is it possible for my clients to see my Preferences when they click on FileMaker's runtime Preferences? Similarly, when they click on the 'About **** Runtime', I'd like them to go to predefined layout containing my About information for my app and not FileMaker's default About panel.
I've played around with Custom menus and I was able to substitute my own About panel, but not the Preferences.
Any ideas anyone?
You make a very good point. I am also struggling with the fact that the iPad version of FileMaker Go displays the 'next' and 'previous' buttons at all times to block part of my own layout even when the layout does has not have a tab order. The current implementation can be very confusing to the end user including experienced iOS users:
