FMPA12.02 OSX Repeated Crashes on Launch

    BruceRobertson

Any idea why FMPA12.0v2 crashes repeatedly on launch?
After multiple attempts it may open successfully.

      OSX 10.7.4

It may take 1 - 4 relaunches to finally get it to open OK.

Complete log attached but opening lines are as follows:

I have updated all the plugins, I still get the same result. Sometimes many launches go just fine; sometimes it crashes several times in a row and finally launches OK.

And sometimes it crashes on quit as well. It will often leave the screen a mess when it does this.

Have you created a new user with fresh, clean prefs?

Is that really your path with an asterisk in it? Not that it should matter for you with OS X, but the asterisk is an illegal character with NTFS.

Have not created a fresh user, that might be interesting.

I can't explain the asterisk. No, it is not part of any real file path. But that is what the crash log returns, so I don't know what that means.

And of course - the app isn't relocated between the many successful launches and the ones that fail.

Does it crash when you open just the application or is it one specific database or do all databases periodically crash?

                        Bruce,

You updated all your plugins without much improvement. Have you tried removing all 3rd-party plugins? Is the app more stable then?

Lately I always open the app first, then open files if the app launches successfully.

Most of the crashes occur on opening the app; but a few times they occur when quitting the app.

Intensive layout work seems to provoke the closing problem.

I will try removing all plugins.

So far it looks like SuperContainer. I've got SuperContainer 2.864, and FM12.0v2; Lion 10.7.4.

I have sent them a bug report with log.
