Could someone please confirm this bug. If you set the style for a tab while it is "In focus", it does not render. Attached is an example.
If I can get a confirmation, I will submit the bug to FileMaker.
I don't believe tabs can have focus. Tabs can be frontmost or not, but not have a focus. Likewise, inactive tabs can receive a mouseover event, but not a "pressed" event as tabs become the frontmost (they activate) on the mousedown event rather than a mouseup event as other objects do. (With the mouseup handler an object has the opportunity to react to the "pressed" state.)
The only time a tab is "in focus" is when it is the frontmost tab panel and you use the keyboard to "tab" into it. Not sure I'd classify it as a bug, rather than unexpected behavior of tab controls & focus.
Odd, then why does it work as expencted in the standard themes?
Themes have a whole ton of stuff going that is not accessible in the Inspector. Like 10x more things. That neat little highlight around a selected object? Not in Inspector. If you change the In Focus color on a themed tab? it doesn't actually change it when you test. Themed objects are a whole 'nother ballgame.
Thanks David. I have taken a really close look at it, and what you said is definitely the case. You just can't do what the themes do. I guess I will just have to be happy with one of the themes that are included. Although they all have aspects I like, they also all have things I don't like. I love the recessed shadow effect in the fields. I sure wish there was an adjustment for that in the inspector.
