item selection from drop down list

    fmk4

      Hi,

      I have 2 tables, Table 1 and Table 2.

      Table 1:

      PK: Date of Purchase

      Status

      Table 2:

PK: Date of Purchase (Link to Table 1)

      Description

      Remark

I was able to use the Drop down list on Table 2 "Date of Purchase" to select Table 1's "Date of Purchase" items. Howeer, I need to filter this list with the Table 1 "Status".

Example, only items that has a Status "NEW"in Table 1 will be displayed (Date of Purchase will be disaplyed and available for selection) in the drop down list in Table 2.

      How do I do that?

A couple of things here. If the PK field in Table 2 is linked to Table 1, that really should be FK, for foreign key, not another primary key. The easiest way for the second part is to add a match field to both where the values in both would be "new" and then use that field as a second match in the relationship, and you should be good to go. If you'd like to post what you have, it wouldn't take but a couple of minutes to make the necessary changes.

          HTH,
