Everytime anyone in our office uses filemaker they need to change the papersize in print set-up before they are able to print. Is there a way to change this?
Script it. What paper size you have when you save the script is what it defaults to.
Also check that your OS settings default to the correct paper size.
If you are using a file that was created with US Letter page setup... that will be the file's default... So if what you want to use is A4, then you must script it unless you clone the file and change the default settings before you enter records (or import them).

I find that in windows envroments printer formatting ( e.g., whether a field renders as you see ot on the screen) is unpredictable in any case.
I usually export to pdf once they see a preview that looks right, and they print from that doc..
I think you just need to change your paper size on filemaker Print Setup and apply changers.
It should be ok.
Unfortunately you don't tell much about your system and FileMaker setup (version and platform, mixed?).
Please read <http://fmdiff.com/fm/printing.html> which also covers your problem.
Thank you. I was surprised at how easy it was.
I looked up the print setup command (which I hadn't used in scripts before) and script triggers in my manual and it only took 5 mins.
