Hello, Just for fun set your portal with only the studentsID as the key field in both tables. You will be able to view all the classes. Sort the Portal by Time or Block, Days of the Week...
The Elective Classes are being replaced by the first class in the portal so they don't show.
Thanks. I'm playing with th portal and student enrollment to see if i can get it to work. I may try to filter the records shown in the portal using a dayoftheweek field. When the student goes to the elective class on a day other than Wednesday, it will show the normal elective class (where the dayfield is blank), but if it's wednesday the elective class that replaces will show up. The filter will say something like If today is wednesday, show only the records with the blank dayfield and the ones where the dayfield is marked with a 2 (2 for wednesday).
IMHO, you should have two types of enrollments (i.e. records in the join table). Then it's easy to have a portal showing only one type - either by filtering the portal or by adding relationship/s to the graph.
Yeah, Its looking like I'm going to have to do that. I dislike that because i'll have 4500 records in that. And I have to be able script it to double the record, change the day when a person enters/changes a schedule. And I need to keep this clean for a upload to our gradebook (haven't built a gradebook yet in the Solution - i need to learn that )
If you prefer, you could have a single join record with two ClassID fields.
