There are various label printers with different challenges and some come packaged with software to help barcoding. You can also buy fonts for your Mac that make some barcodes, but not 2D ones like QR codes. I personally prefer using the CNS Barcode plugin that generates quite a number of types of barcodes and saves them as a graphic in a container field. Then you just place the graphic field in your label layout and you're good to go. FYI, I prefer the Mac, but the number of label printers is limited compared to the Windows side of things.
Thanks, Lindsay and Bob for the introduction.
We sell barcode scanners, mag swipe readers and RFID readers (as of now). I can also recommend you other solutions, such as how to print, what to print on, etc.
I would need a little more information as to what you're actually trying to achieve, because context is very relevant here.
Lindsay, we should report that we can't edit from the iPad. I ran into that issue several times by now.

One of my clients uses this and it was extremely simple to implement. It comes with very good instructions and took just a few minutes to set up. No special fonts needed!
