E-commerce Web Development Manager

A publishing and web design firm in the Orlando area seeks a Web Development Manager to be based in our office. The Web Manager reports directly to the CEO. This is a full-time role and we are not looking for part time consultants. The Web Manager will be responsible for upgrading the company’s e-commerce web platform that currently hosts close to 400 websites. The Web Manager will manage a team of 4 other web department personnel, including two web programmers. The Web Manager will oversee all key projects and will also be active in code writing.


Required skills are:

  • Expert (minimum 10 years’ fulltime experience) knowledge of PHP
  • Extensive Web project management experience
  • Experience managing a team of local and remote software developers
  • Experience managing e-commerce platforms
  • A minimum of 10 years’ work experience
  • Experience with Filemaker
  • Experience with MySQL



Bonus skills (not required):


  • Experience managing remote software developers
  • Experience with lean and mistake proofing processes
  • Computer Science, Statistics or Math undergraduate degree


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the best technology platform to move websites to, create a roadmap, hire external web contractors and implement changes
  • Determine root causes of issues and implement corrective actions
  • Move existing websites to a cloud based server
  • Manage customer featured requests, prioritize among team and implement
  • Continuously drive improvements to maximize our customer’s web sales
  • Develop a world-class web platform that can rival the best e-commerce systems in the industry
